David Olkowski

About Me

I am a former Astronautical Engineer in the US Air Force, now living in Australia. During that career, I also taught Maths for several different universities in the evenings for 14 years as part of the Air Force's degree program for its members. In Australia, I completed a career as a Business Intelligence Consultant. I retired from that in 2017 and I have been tutoring Maths in Australia since 2018.

What I Teach

Year 11 - 12 Maths (General, Methods, Specialist, Advanced) and many Undergraduate maths subjects. I have tutored students from the University of Melbourne, RMIT, Swinburne, Monash, and Deakin.

My approach to teaching a student varies according to their needs. But in all cases, I try to instil a feel for maths. Where I can, I provide a mental image of what is being covered. The end result is a student that doesn't view a maths problem as finding the right checklist to use, but one that analyses the problem and chooses a logical approach based on their knowledge.
